How are words counted?
A word is any group of letters or numbers separated by spaces or punctuation. Hyphenated words like “well-known” and contractions like “don’t” count as one word.
How many words is a page?
About 500 words single-spaced or 250 words double-spaced, using a 12-point font with normal margins.
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time assumes 238 words per minute, the average adult silent reading speed. Speaking time uses 140 words per minute.
Is my text saved anywhere?
