About Sales tax calculator

Sales tax in the United States is set by each state, and most cities and counties add their own local tax on top. This sales tax calculator includes the state rate for every state, plus a field for your local rate, so you get the full combined rate.

Five states — Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon — have no statewide sales tax, although some Alaskan towns charge a local one. Rates change from time to time, so check your city’s current combined rate for exact figures.
